Sociology
Back to Subjects“The difficulty, in sociology, is to manage to think in a completely astonished and disconcerted way about things you thought you had always understood.”
Pierre Bourdieu
Sociology is the study of social life, social change, and the social causes and consequences of human behaviour. Sociologists investigate the structure of groups, organizations, and societies, and how people interact within these contexts. In Sociology you will try to make sense of what is going on in our society today looking at, the family, education system, crime and social stratification. Sociology will challenge commons sense ideas you may have had about society specifically looking into how your social class, gender and ethnicity can affect the life chances of individuals.
