Curriculum
At The Pingle Sixth Form we provide the opportunity to study a wide range of subjects, which will enable students to access their chosen career routes or courses to achieve their ambitions.
Sixth Form students will study three A Level/vocational subjects during their two years in Sixth Form and will have the option to also study for either the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) or an additional AS subject. Students who do not wish to take an additional qualification may have timetabled study periods and gain support and guidance from one of the Sixth Form Mentors.
A two year Programme of Study in the Sixth Form consists of one of the two study routes within the core curriculum.
A Level Pathway: Select three A Level subjects
Combined Academic Pathway (A Level & BTEC): A combination of three A Level and vocational qualifications.
Students may opt for the EPQ or additional AS Level on either pathway.
Form tutors will deliver a programme of Extended Studies, where there is a focus on study skills, preparation for work and university.
At the end of Year 12, all students are required to undertake one week of relevant work experience where possible.
We hope you find the information in this Curriculum Booklet useful.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to speak to Ms J Wilson, Head of Sixth Form.
