Welcome
As a student in our Sixth Form, you will be joining a community which has a positive, committed and supportive working atmosphere, where students can achieve at the highest level. Our high expectations of our students, coupled with our excellent facilities and pastoral care, ensure that students gain very good results, which will enable you to progress onto your desired career pathway. Our links with universities, local employers and careers advice services are excellent and consequently, all students can be confident of quality careers and Higher Education guidance.
Our enhanced curriculum will enable students to embed learning in your chosen subjects and to develop wider skills and experiences of all, which are valuable for your future CV or university application forms. When you achieve your A Levels and leave us to go on to university, Higher or Degree Apprenticeships or into employment, you can be confident of managing your own learning, secure in the knowledge that you have the skills, abilities and understanding to overcome any challenges you might face on your path to success.
Throughout the year, students participate in university experiences, including the Oxbridge shadowing scheme; “Inspiring Excellence” conference at Villiers Park, Cambridge, as well as Sutton Trust and other university summer schools and workshops. We also participate in the Realising Opportunities Scheme, supported by Loughborough University. Students undertake a week of relevant work experience in the summer term and students have had placements in a wide variety of organisations, including in law firms, engineering companies and at the hospital.
Students perform at their best when they have a supportive, encouraging team to help them. Our tutors are all highly experienced in teaching A Level subjects and working with young people. Ms Wilson is the Head of Sixth Form, Miss Robinson is the Assistant Head of Sixth Form and we have two Student Mentors, Mr Wheeler & Mrs Loch. Both work closely with students and are key members of staff, providing academic support to remove any barriers to learning and to ensure that students achieve their potential.
We are very much looking forward to welcoming you to our Sixth Form and to getting to know you.

Entry requirements are as follows:

- Students must also meet the specific subject entry requirement..
- Students who meet the entry requirement, but have not gained a grade 4 or better in English and/or Mathematics will be required to re-sit at the earliest opportunity.
- Highest priority in the case of over-subscription must be given to looked after children and previously looked after children who meet the entry criteria.
