Performing Arts: Music
Back to Subjects"Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything."

Welcome to the Pingle Academy Music page. Our curriculum allows students the opportunity to explore the world of music, encouraging an appreciation and understanding for performance, composition and appraising. We explore a range of genres including blues, pop and classical music. Students are actively encouraged to experiment with playing a range of instruments throughout their musical journey with us. Singing as a choir, learning how to read and play guitar tabs, understanding and following notation whilst playing the keyboard and playing samba rhythms on the drums are all features of our diverse curriculum. We aim for students to gain knowledge and confidence in their own abilities and to provide them with a stimulating and creative outlet.
There will be ample opportunity throughout student's time at the Pingle Academy to perform in lessons as well as in concerts and school shows. We offer a range of extra-curricular opportunities including peripatetic music lessons, covering a wide range of instruments and this can lead to additional music exams, in turn earning students UCAS points which are counted in university applications.
The academy is equipped with a plethora of musical instruments and we also use digital technology such as iPads to compose music of different styles and genres.
