Mrs E Warren
Assistant Principal and Head of Sixth Form
Favourite subject
My favourite subject at school was English. Having grown up in Stratford-upon-Avon, it was perhaps inevitable that Shakespeare would become a particular favourite of mine! I have always loved reading and discussing literature, exploring the different ways in which writers use language and hearing other people’s interpretations of a text.
Hobbies
In my spare time, I enjoy yoga, walking my dog, and reading - particularly crime fiction. I also love travelling and exploring new places whenever I have the opportunity. I complete a Duolingo lesson every day to keep up my French skills and enjoy spending time with my family and friends.
About me
I studied English and French at the University of Manchester. As part of my degree, I spent my third year living and teaching in Paris, which was a fantastic experience and gave me the opportunity to immerse myself in French life and culture. I later completed my PGCE at the University of Nottingham and began teaching in 2007.
Sixth Form education has always been a particular passion of mine. It is such an exciting and important stage in a student’s education, as they develop greater independence and make decisions that will shape their future. I am very proud to be Assistant Principal and Head of Sixth Form at The Pingle Academy, supporting students to overcome challenges, fulfil their potential, and progress successfully towards university, apprenticeships, or employment.
